This book got only an 8 because the ending broke my heart. Ms. Harris has a way of moving each separate book series (she has four) along so that they never get boring. I'm sure this is why she ended the book the way she did. The ending will make a HUGE difference in the rest of the series. It was written well and I am very fond of Aurora Teagraden, the main character. But I am just very shocked and saddened by the ending of this book.
